Whitesales are leading designers, manufacturers, installers and distributor of rooflights, overhead roof glazing. They needed an app to allow surveyors to quickly and safely configure and specify requirements for a rooflight project installation whilst onsite. The Surveyor can use the App (running on a hardened tablet) whilst on the roof to view the original roof plan with satellite overlay imagery to plan and schedule the correct skylights and other elements for a roof whilst onsite.
The back-office team creates work orders via the linked portal and allocates to the relevant surveyor for an area, these jobs are then sent directly to the App in the form of projects which are then viewed by an authenticated Surveyor on their tablet containing all the relevant information for the project to view whilst onsite.
Once the Surveyor is onsite, they check-in to the App which in the first instance provides a customised Roof Survey Risk Assessment questionnaire to complete before they are permitted access to the client’s roof, once completed this geo-locates with a time stamp sending the information to the back-office team so they have a record they are onsite and complied to the risk assessment requirements for insurance.
The App then provides the surveyor with the management information already entered with full editing capabilities. Providing the functionality to add/update all data on the survey form, specification sheet and using the Apps customised drawing tool the ability to plot new locations of products/rooflights on the plans enhanced by in-built camera on the tablet enable photos to be added to the project galleries. Once completed all the information is sent back to the portal which automatically creates updated plans and quotes for the project.
The App allows quotations to be distributed quicker than their competitors and this gives them a commercial advantage.
