Costain

Lower Portobello Pumping Station is a Victorian pumping station that was updated 1977 but it required extensive renovations to bring it up to European environmental standards on wastewater treatment. CMDP – a joint venture between Costain and MWH – and Southern Water wanted to record this important work for marketing, training and historical purposes. They also wanted to be able to monitor the site remotely. The location was challenging. The site is located at the foot of a cliff. It was decided that an arm be extended from the top of the cliff to get the view the pumping station below. In addition, the weather coming in off the sea is vicious. However, our weatherproof IP67 cameras withstood the worst of elements. The final film is fascinating and includes other content such as drone footage, stills and the CAD renders.
